Wherever we put our flocks, we recruit and train volunteer urban shepherds to tend the sheep. These neighbors/volunteers need at least an hour a week to spare. They are trained in a one-day course run by professional shepherds, during which they learn how to round up a flock and what to do in an emergency. The training covers conservation grazing, the shepherd’s calendar, common sheep ailments, how to handle a sheep, and installation and maintenance of electric sheep netting. This is a great opportunity to introduce sheep to urban dwellers of all ages. Contact us at info@urbanshepherds.com to start a program in your area and for more information.
TRAINING VIDEOS:
We are also producing a series of educational video with experts from the industry. Please email us at info@urbanshepherds.com to get the link to these programs.
